Rhedd and Rosie's Challenge Blog - Challenge #29 - Wood/Trees

This fortnight our theme is 

Challenge #29
Trees/Wood

Remit for the challenge is...Each entry must contain a tree/trees, either an image,a 
stamp or die cut OR have some form of wood, drift wood, or their whole entry can be wood. No small token or wood grain/wood embossed background is acceptable for this challenge as the theme MUST be the main feature.

Here is my DT project ATC Printer Trays

I used 2 Printer Tray - ATC Size - 3.5 x 2.5 inches - Laser Cut MDF Wood from WhichCraft .  

I hinged them together using a mini hinge and claps from my stash held on using E6000 and finished off with some gold flatback pearls.  I used one of my favourite Prima collections - Lyric - to cover the outside and also within each of the compartments in the inside.  I then selected some small lace trims from my stash and started to build up the inside.  Rummaging through my stash I found lots of little trinkets and goodies to add in along with tiny WOC flowers.  As I made this I though of a friend that I would like to gift this to and added the Tim Holtz words

'Treasure, Friendship Forever'

Here is my DT project a Special Birthday Card

I made this 8"x8" card using Prima Lyric papers, distressed and edged with TH Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.  I added a cluster of flowers from my stash using a mix of WOC, Recollections and some handmade lace and crochet flowers.  I die cut one of the Cheery Lyn butterflies and tucked in behind a banner I created with Many Happy Returns.  Finished off with some black flat backed pearls on the top and bottom corners and also on the banner. 

This card was custom made for a 75th Birthday card, the recipient is so very happy with it and says it will definitely be one to keep :-).

Rhedd's Creative Spirit Altered Art Challenge Blog

 Rhedd's Creative Spirit Challenge Blog

So delighted to see this wonderful Challenge Blog running so very well, fantastic entries for our maiden Challenge and our winner has been announced over on 
Rhedd's Creative Spirit Challenge Blog, please go over and take a look. 

Challenges will run from the 1st of each month at 9am and end 10am the last day of the month.  Every Challenge will be 'Anything Goes' occasionally there may be a twist to the theme just to stretch your already creative minds that wee bit further :-)

Each Challenge will be judged by one of us teamies and the prize will be an Altered Art item and our winners badge.

Challenge #2

And without further ado here is my second DT Project for Rhedd's Creative Spirit

 I altered this gorgeous Fernli Designs Small Letter Rack Organiser with Drawer this measures 18cm wide x 10cm deep x 7.5cm at its highest point at back.  
The drawer is 7.2 cm wide x 16.8cm long x 1.6cm deep.

This went together so very easily and I used Glossy Accents as my adhesive.  I decided to add my own drawer pull from my stash which I covered in Viva Decor Inca Gold.
I have had G45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe in my stash for ages and I decided that this would be the perfect project to use it on, I just love this paper collection.  My lovely friend Jane in America very kindly sent me the gorgeous metal telephone and I thought it fitted in so well. To finish off I rubbed more Inca Gold to all the exposed wood edges which has added a lovely rich depth to the overall look.
