About the Artist

My photo
I just love crafting, the messier the better. Have been crafting all my days but in the last 16 years have been doing more and more. My obsession began with making cards and from there I have tried many different forms of crafting. Great fan of Tim_Holtz love all his products would love to own them all one day. Graphic 45 is another must have for me and again would love to have it all. And then there is Prima well what can a girl say, just simply stunningly beautiful. Really enjoying the vintage, shabby chic and steampunk styles which are very much in vogue at the minute. Love Lace and Pearl trim, you might be seeing a fair bit of it all on here. xx Please keep calling past and enjoy my crafting journey with me. Great Big Huge Hugs Becca xxx

Crafty Emblies Challenge Blog

Challenge #5 'Vintage, Shabby Chic'

Wow what fantastic entries we have had for our 4th Challenge over at Crafty-Emblies.
Our winner chosen by Lisa has now been announced :-)

The Crafty Emblies Challenge Blog has been changed a bit and we are now an Altered Art/Mixed Media only Blog but if you have Cards, ATC, Scrapbook page entries etc. we have teamed up with our Sister Blog Craftymess and your entries are very welcome over there.

Our current theme on Crafty Emblies this month is Vintage, Shabby Chic.  Us teamies have been very busy creating with our Crafty Emblies Goodies please pop over for a look at everyone's creations, they are fantastic.

I have made a Toilet Roll Tube Mini Album for this months theme.

I like my creations to be recycled/upcycled, Practical Usable Art and I think I have managed to achieve this with this piece.  I used 6 Toilet Roll Tubes to create the pages, an old cereal packet to make the cover and this was a great project to use up bits and piece of scrap card and papers I had from previous projects.

I love Vintage and Shabby Chic at the moment, so couldn't wait to get started with this one.  I painted all the tubes with a mix of shabby pink acrylic paint which I mix myself from White and Crimson Acrylic.  Once dried I covered the front and back of the tubes with off cuts of pink papers from a Pink Paisley collection and then constructed the album using the 'Stack the Deck' binding method.  I stuck with the colours Pink, Brown and Cream.  The Album cover was created as I said from an old cereal packet which I also painted in the Pink Shabby Chic acrylic and also covered in brown cardstock and decorated using distressed paper doilies, cream seam binding, flowers from my stash arranged into a spray in the bottom left corner, some lace leaves to were added in behind this spray too.  And of course the whole project was finished of just perfectly with embellishments from the wonderful Judie and Pete at Crafty Emblies

Please come on over and join in with us on our 5th Challenge again the prize for the winner is a £10 voucher to spend on wonderful Crafty Emblies.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your wonderful creations too.

Great Big Huge Hugs

Craftymess Challenge Blog

Choose a Country

This fortnights theme is 'Choose a Country' and is sponsored by Sassy Images who supplied us with a choice of images to create with.

This is my DT Project for this Challenge.  I have chosen and  coloured the image 'India Honey' available from Sassy Studio Designs using colouring pencils.  The tag I created by finger smudging some gesso over it hear and there and dried it using my Heat Tool.  I then used some TH distress inks, Victorian Velvet, Vintage Photo and Faded Jeans.  I stamped a TH image along with some scroll images I have in my stash.  I spritz the tag with water to change the background effect. Added lots of beads and bling to add to the India feel and tied up with some seam binding coloured with some Cosmic Shimmer in Marigold.  I then added some black trim topped with some pink/black bling mesh (this is the first I have ever had or used this stuff and I love it).

I hope I have managed to capture the Indian Summer colours and added enough bling to this project.

Please come over and join in with us as I mentioned about this Challenge is sponsored by http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.co.uk/ and the prize for this fortnights winner is digi images of their choice.
I hope to see your wonderful creations over at

Great to be back, lots more to come.
