About the Artist

My photo
I just love crafting, the messier the better. Have been crafting all my days but in the last 16 years have been doing more and more. My obsession began with making cards and from there I have tried many different forms of crafting. Great fan of Tim_Holtz love all his products would love to own them all one day. Graphic 45 is another must have for me and again would love to have it all. And then there is Prima well what can a girl say, just simply stunningly beautiful. Really enjoying the vintage, shabby chic and steampunk styles which are very much in vogue at the minute. Love Lace and Pearl trim, you might be seeing a fair bit of it all on here. xx Please keep calling past and enjoy my crafting journey with me. Great Big Huge Hugs Becca xxx

That Craft Place Challenge Blog - 22nd Challenge - Christmas/Anything Goes

Hello everyone Challenge 22 is live over at That Craft Place Challenge Blog.  Our theme for this challenge is

Christmas/Anything Goes

For my DT project for this Challenge I decided to alter a paperbag.  I used TH DI in Weathered Wood and edged all of the outer edges on the bag itself.  I then added some white burlap and some fringe trim from my stash and took the first page from the G45 Christmas Emporium as my main image.  I love G45 papers but never want to cut them lol so I thought for this project it would be the perfect time to used one of these sheets.  I distressed it with my TH distress tool and again edged it with the Weathered Wood.  I punched some paper snowflakes using a snowflake punch and covered them in a mixture of stickles Diamond and also some crackle accents (all available from That Craft Place). I then created a cream seambinding bow to the bottom left corner and just had to add a chunk of bling with an acrylic bauble.  In the bottom right hand corner I created a cluster of flowers (from my stash) around a gorgeous die cut heart which started out in life as white but again I used some TH DI in Vintage Photo to make it tone in with the kraft colour of the bag.  I then tied one of the gorgeous brass keys into a seambinding bow (both available at TCP).
Just for a bit more texture I added some snowflake effect dust to the Christmas tree and some more spots of Stickles just for a little glint here and there.

I hope you like my project for this Challenge.  This bag will be housing my Mum's Christmas gifts this year and I am sure she will love it.

Rhedd and Rosie's Anything Goes Challenge Blog - Challenge #22 - Let it Snow

I cannot believe it only a week until Christmas, where has this year gone.  Are you all ready and organised for next week?  I have all my presents wrapped and some already delivered, although I am very bad and haven't written a card yet!!!

We have had great entries again over at Rhedd and Rosie's Challenge Blog and a winner has been announced for our last Challenge, Congratulations to the winner.

This fortnight our theme is 'Let it Snow'

This is my DT project

My very good friend Jane sent this to me from America.  It is one of the lovely Michael's snow globes.  I added some paper from the G45 Christmas Emporium instead of inserting photographs.  I just love the vintage traditional feel of these papers.  I used some lace trim, flat backed pearl trim and some paper punched out snowflakes (Stickled of course lol) topped off with a cream seambinding bow and some beautiful sparkly Michael's gold leaves.

This is now sitting very proudly on my Mum's bookshelf in her sittingroom, so far the only Christmas decoration to be up.  But I can't speak because as well as not having a Christmas card written I still have no decorations up yet either.  At this rate it is going to be time to take it all down again if I don't get a move on lol.

Here is my YT video showing my project

The prize for this Challenge is sponsored by Rosie.  This collection is gorgeous and fabulous to work with.  For your chance to win come over and join in with us at Rhedd and Rosie's Challenge Blog, follow our rules and theme.

Tsunami Rose Design

I created this mini album using chipboard covers and I used the stack the deck hing system, tutorial on YT by Laura Dennison Following the Paper Trail here to create the binding.  Firstly I printed out the entire Christmas Gift collection from Tsunami Rose Designs and got busy cutting and preparing all the wonderful pages ready to be using in this album.  I painted the cover in black gesso and covered using a selection of papers from the gorgeous Collection.  I edged all of the outside in Inca Gold in the Green colour.  I added lace, bling, flowers and one of my handmade stickpins on the cover.  The inside and the pages and pull out tags are all using paper from the same collection.  Each pull out I added 2 poinsettia blooms from WOC topped with a button an alternative to using a tap punch, again these are edged with Inca Gold.  I created pockets and belly bands on several pages using kraft cardstock either topped with paper from the collection or ribbons or lace from my stash and added in all the wonderful pockets and tags included in the collection.

I hope you like my creation and will agree that this paper collection from Tsunami Rose Designs is yet again another fabulous one and a real must have.  I just love the distress/aged and traditional feel to them all.

Rhedd and Rosie's Anything Goes Challenge Blog - Challenge #21 - Use Old Stash

It is time again for another new Challenge over at Rhedd and Rosie's Challenge Blog.
Our winner has been chosen from our previous challenge, congratulations, what a wonderful prize and I am sure you will have lots of fun playing with it.

This fortnight our theme is 'Use Old Stash'  I pulled out some old Christmas Papers from my cupboard and created this card

I used a 6.5"x6.5" pearlescent cardstock base and layered on some blue Christmas paper from a Dovecraft collection I have had for at least the last 3 years and also cut a strip of Christmas text from the same collection and added it onto the right hand side..  I took an snowflake punch (cause we all have them tucked away in our stash) and punched out a mixture of pearlescent paper and blue Christmas paper and stuck them onto swirls of pearlescent cardstock created using a Cheery Lynn die. I stamped out the sentiment Merry Christmas, which is a rubber stamp I seem to have had in my stash right from the start of my crafting back in 2004, onto the same pearlescent cardstock using brown Stazon and popped it up using foam squares.  I added some clear rhinestones and some diamond Stickles to the snowflakes and then added some cream ruffle trim topped off with some iridescent flat back pearl string just for that added bit of bling.

The prize for this challenge is sponsored by the wonderful teamie Moira
