About the Artist

My photo
I just love crafting, the messier the better. Have been crafting all my days but in the last 16 years have been doing more and more. My obsession began with making cards and from there I have tried many different forms of crafting. Great fan of Tim_Holtz love all his products would love to own them all one day. Graphic 45 is another must have for me and again would love to have it all. And then there is Prima well what can a girl say, just simply stunningly beautiful. Really enjoying the vintage, shabby chic and steampunk styles which are very much in vogue at the minute. Love Lace and Pearl trim, you might be seeing a fair bit of it all on here. xx Please keep calling past and enjoy my crafting journey with me. Great Big Huge Hugs Becca xxx

October Challenge

Halloween or Not

The theme this month has a twist and that twist is Halloween, it's not compulsory, it's entirely up to you, so long as it is ALTERED ART ONLY

This is my DT creation using the Halloween Theme

Halloween mantlepiece decoration - with lights :-)

This project was another one that I raided my Dad's workshop for.  He has lots of bits of off cut wood and he didn't let me down this time either, I found two bits of scrap wood and attached them together and drilled some strategically places holes, 9 in total, in the back to pop my Halloween battery operated lights through. I painted the whole piece black and then set to work creating all the embellishments to set the scene.

I used wood embellishments from WhichCraft on Zibbet, a fabulous Halloween selection, pumpkins, ghosts, witches, haunted house to name a few.  I used a mixture of inks, paints and waxes to colour up each piece and then dipped most of them in my Melt Pot to seal with UTEE or alternatively rubbed with Inca Gold.

I created little spell books using some scraps of leather and copy paper.  From my stash I gathered up all my little spooky Halloween themed embellishments little spiders and big ones too, glow in the dark skeletons and stretched cobweb material everywhere it would stick.  I even cut up some of the glow in the dark skeleton bones and sealed them inside a glass bottle, ready to be added to the next spell.

I used some cut out from Tsunami Rose, Witches Brew Paper Collection to create bottles of poisonous potions.  I made little potion bottles too using some pearl beads stacked together to look like mysterious bottles of witches concoctions.

I had such fun creating this fun scene and it will be used this Halloween on our Mantlepiece.  I hope you like it and can see the fun I had creating.

Please come over and join in with our October Challenge for your chance to win these Deep Edged Canvas's (8"x8" & 8"x4").

I so hope you like my creation for Rhedd's Creative Spirit.
