About the Artist

My photo
I just love crafting, the messier the better. Have been crafting all my days but in the last 16 years have been doing more and more. My obsession began with making cards and from there I have tried many different forms of crafting. Great fan of Tim_Holtz love all his products would love to own them all one day. Graphic 45 is another must have for me and again would love to have it all. And then there is Prima well what can a girl say, just simply stunningly beautiful. Really enjoying the vintage, shabby chic and steampunk styles which are very much in vogue at the minute. Love Lace and Pearl trim, you might be seeing a fair bit of it all on here. xx Please keep calling past and enjoy my crafting journey with me. Great Big Huge Hugs Becca xxx

Take Flight 9th Challenge

Oh my word, it is well over a month since my last blog post, where has the time gone?

I have some super exciting news to share with you all.  I am delighted to let you know that I have been asked to join Rhedd and Rosie Anything Goes Challenge Blog as a Design Team Member, a position I said yes straight away to.  Thank you so so much again Sandie for asking me, you really did make my month for me xxx

This is my first Challenge and the theme is 'Take Flight'.  I have really enjoyed creating this project and loved the messiness which was involved with it.  The messier the better for me hehe.

This is a 10" x 12" Mixed Media Canvas.  I have used an old dictionary to create the background cutting up pages and adhering them onto the canvas using Matt Medium.  Once dried I used Tattered Angel's Graphite spray and some Cosmic Shimmers to create a lovely shimmery background.  The cogs are of course from Mr Tim Holtz Cogs and Gears die, which I sprayed with Tattered Angels, rubbed with Inca Gold in 3 different colours, Green, Copper and Gold and edged off with Black Stazon Ink.  I then dipped them in UTEE using my very technical home made Melting Pot (a silver pie dish, one day I will treat myself to the real thing lol).  I cut the hot air balloon using a cereal packet covered in Papermania Chronology paper.  This was also sprayed using some masks and Tattered Angels again.  The works 'Let Your Dreams Take Flight' I printed off using a Word Document and mod podged them on.  I used Creative Expressions Steampunk stamp set for the Bees and also the Steampunk Dressform which was also embossed using gold embossing powder and the wings and body were coloured using some Artist Oil Pastels.  Using the same stamp set I stamped cogs on the balloon using Versamark Watermark ink and brushed over with various Pearl Ex mica powders.  I created the balloon basket by cutting a beer mat in half and covered it in papers from the same stack.  I broke up an old necklace and used the chain to form the ropes to attach the basket to the balloon and the main part of the necklace to decorate the basket.  I finished off with some metal cogs which I was kindly given by my good friend Jane adding a few flat backed black pearls to the centers on the dressform and used some white acrylic paint and bubble wrap to add a bit of texture to the background in random areas.

I hope you like my creation, I am quite pleased with how it turned out and think it fits in with the current Challenge theme quite well.  I also have a YouTube video on my channel please click here to see my project in more detail please feel free to visit my channel and subscribe if you like and see my other creations.

Please come along and join in over at

First Scene Card

Hello everyone.  I haven't posted in a while and have been busy creating and producing Wedding Stationary over the last few months.  I have completed 1 set and I am currently working on my second order.

I took a break and have been shown by a very very good friend of mine how to use my Pro-Markers properly.  I won a giveaway on Facebook from Clearly Besotted Stamps and received 5 brilliant photopolymer stamps, they are great.  The image quality when stamped is one of the best I have seen and I thought I would make use of them along with my new knowledge of using Pro-Markers.  If you would like to check out other stamps and dies available Click Here

This is the card I came up with which I also used as my Challenge entry on YouTube for Jamie (Not2Shabby on Zibbet), ScrappinStampers on YT.

This is nothing like my usual style but I have really enjoyed making this card.  I have a YT Video showing it in more detail and explaining how I made it.  I would love it if you popped over to my YT Channel to take a look.

Thank you for stopping by your comments are truly appreciated.

My Little Men's Birthday Cards 2013

Well it is coming to that time of year again and our wee boys will be turning 6 & 9.  I can't believe they are that age already, where has the time gone?  I can still remember being told by everyone that they aren't little long and to make the most of it.  I didn't agree with that when I was up through the night doing the night feeds and changing dirty nappies!!! But I have to agree now that they are sleeping all night and more or less manage quite well to look after themselves.

Well I have been busy today getting their Birthday Cards made and am quite impressed with the fact that I managed successfully without falling out with my Cricut and got everything cut in one go and right first time.  You never know, I think I might just have cracked how to use it properly lol.

Here are their cards.  I think I am safe enough posting them on here early as they are wee enough yet and won't find them on here anyway.  Mind you with saying that the things our eldest can manage to find on Ebay is quite something else so I better not lay any money on my previous statement.

Hope you like them

Thank you again for stopping past

Crafty-Emblies - 8th Challenge - Wings

Well hello everyone.  I can hardly believe it but we are already at our 8th Challenge over at
Crafty-Emblies and it has gone live today at 12 noon.

We had some super entries last month, well done all that entered, 'Male' is always a hard theme.  The Winner has been announced so please pop over to Crafty Emblies to see who it is.

Our theme for this month is 'Wings' as chosen by our owner and creator Judie. I really enjoyed creating for this theme as it covers such a broad variety of options.

This is my DT creation for this month

'WINGS'

I took a Michael's Birdhouse for this project and 6 mini spools from my stash to mount the house on.  I used a Crafty-Emblies picket fence and covered it in Stampendous Shabby Pink embossing powder.  I had an old plaque which was given to me from a charity shop find and I used green embossing powder mixed with green floss to create the grass effect.  The Birdhouse I painted in a self mixed cream colour of Acrylic paint.  I added lace and trim from my stash to dress the roof.  I took the Crafty-Emblies Swan Wings and hot glued them onto the base of the birdhouse, I think the effect looks pretty cool :-).  I perched a Crafty-Emblies Bird in front of the opening along with a little metal butterfly also from my stash.  To decorate I used a mix of WOC flowers, pearl bling, handmade stick pins, metal butterflies rose trim wrapped around the spool legs and also inked up 2 of the Crafty-Emblies Leaves to build my flower arrangements onto.

I hope you like my creation, I really appreciate all your comments.

This is a great Challenge, for your chance to enter and win a fabulous £10 voucher to spend on the wonderful Crafty-Emblies goodies please leave your link over on our Challenge Blog
