My photo
I just love crafting, the messier the better. Have been crafting all my days but in the last 16 years have been doing more and more. My obsession began with making cards and from there I have tried many different forms of crafting. Great fan of Tim_Holtz love all his products would love to own them all one day. Graphic 45 is another must have for me and again would love to have it all. And then there is Prima well what can a girl say, just simply stunningly beautiful. Really enjoying the vintage, shabby chic and steampunk styles which are very much in vogue at the minute. Love Lace and Pearl trim, you might be seeing a fair bit of it all on here. xx Please keep calling past and enjoy my crafting journey with me. Great Big Huge Hugs Becca xxx

Fernli Designs - 1st Guest DT Project for September

I was delighted and truly thrilled to be asked to be one of the Guest DT members for the month of September for Fernli Designs.  I love all of their designs and they really are fabulous quality and have a customer service second to none.

I was sent a fabulous selection of pieces to design with the choice was so difficult.  I have a stash of product of my own also which I purchased, won in giveaways and also was kindly gifted in swaps so my choice was really very difficult, but such a pleasure to delve into and create with.

I firstly opted for this gorgeous Heart of Hearts

For my first project I created this wall hanging using the beautifully designed Fernli Designs Heart of Hearts

To start with I covered the whole piece in Versamark ink and then embossed with some Stampendous Frantage in Shabby Blue.  I love this embossing enamel and the effect and texture once heated is stunning.  I then used an IndigoBlu stamp set that I got as a free gift with one of my crafty magazines for the sentiment.

Once I had attached the sentiment I set about digging through my stash of flowers, leaves, stemens, bead sprays, pearls and heart bling and added a cluster around the left side of the heart.  I didn't want to cover up too much of this beautiful piece from Fernli as I really think it is stunning as it is.  To finish off I added some adhesive pearl swirls to the right side, just to balance the project a little more, one of my handmade stickpins into the cluster and then adhered some cream seam binding to the back as a means to hang this wall hanging.

I hope you like my project, I have really enjoyed creating it and I am currently really, really enjoying having Fernli product spread over my craft desk.  I have 2 more project so please keep an eye out for them coming soon.  I am really excited about showing the largest of all the projects but will keep you hanging on until nearer the end of the month to unveil it to you all :-)

I would like to enter this in the following challenge

The Mirror Crack'd - Anything Goes

Tando Creative Challenges September - Numbers and Letters

Creative Blog Hop

I was touched and very honoured when I found I had been nominated to do this blog hop by Sandra Wright....Thank you so much Sandie, your kind words really did humble me.
This is a continuous blog hop every monday with a host of inspirational bloggers taking part
There are a few questions that I've been asked...so I'll do my best to answer them....

1. What am I working on....
At the moment I am working on a few projects (nothing new there lol) I always have more than one thing on the go.  Ideas and inspiration hit me and when they do i just have to start them.  I currently have a few projects in progress for Rhedd's Creative Spirit Challenge Blog.  This is actually Sandra's baby and I was very honoured to be asked to be one of her fabulous DT members.  I am also very lucky to be a Guest DT for Fernli Designs for the Month of September.  I have 3 project to make and have completed 1 and the other 2 are on my craft desk at the moment. I can't wait to share them with you all.

2. How does my work differ from others in the my genre....
I don't know if my work does differ, everyone has their own style and can add their own twist to project.  I am told that I have my own style which is easily recognisable, even my kids can tell if I show them a pic of something whether or not I made it so I suppose I must have my own distictive style........ it's been Becca'd lol.  I love vintage/shabby chic with a twist of grunge thrown in.

3. Why do I create what I do.....

I just create whatever comes to me.  I don't know if I ever know exactly how a project will turn out? Sometimes things just happen at my craft table and its a case of well there you have it!!  I love altered art, the freedom of just letting go and going where the art takes you.

4. How does my creative process work....
Well sometimes like I said above it just happens.  I do find that a brows through pinterest or blogs will inspire me to come up with something or ideas grow and evolve from something I have seen and I thing I would like to try that.  Quite often though a project can take a very different turn from where it started out.  I think most creative people would say that though.  I also believe that you have to just go with it and let it take you, don't give up until you reach that point where you sit back and look and say...... that's it, its done :-)

Nominations.....
Firstly I would like to nominate Becka Tyrell .....who I got to know through a craft group we were both in a few years ago. I have always loved Becka's creativity, her use of colour is just so fantastic and always just works so so well.  That must be her Interior Design skill in there a bit I think :-).  I have loved watching her work evolve and love seeing her new style in Altered Art too. l admired her work, and she has even tried to teach me how to use Copic markers and promarkers keeping me right on my blending techniques.

Please visit Becka's Blog:  http://cosylittlebutton.blogspot.co.uk/

Secondly I would like to nominate Stephanie Rafos....who I got to know through YouTube (please click here to visit Steph's YouTube channel).  I love all of Stephs creative cards.  She is a master at Scene cards and I love seeing how she puts them all together and creates such clever cards that anyone would just be over the moon to receive.  Steph too is someone who's Copic colouring is second to none.
Please visit Steph's Blog:  http://emchantedsteph.blogspot.co.uk/

Thank you all for stopping by and taking the time to read my answers.  I look forward to seeing Becka and Steph's answers too, and thank you once again for my nomination Sandie xx

September Challenge

This is my DT Project for Rhedd's Creative Spirit

I was very kindly gifted these frames from a very good friend, who saw them and thought 'I know someone who could do something with these'.

I started by taping up over the glass to protect it whilst I painted and added modeling paste.  I used a mixture of blue and green eco-friendly paints.  To add some texture I used the punched out sheets you are left with from sequins with some modeling paste and liked the bubble texture that this achieved. Using some homemade and Cosmic Shimmer sprays I added and blotted off until I got the desired colour and shimmer I was after.

I rumbled around in my stash and decided to add some sea shells, burlap twine and some broken pearl necklace pieces to add to the under the sea effect.  To finish I took some garden twine and created 2 reef knots and added 1 to the top of each frame.

My dear friend now has these frames back and they fit in perfectly with her nautical house and lifestyle.

Please come over and join in with our September Challenge for your chance to win this MDF Letter Rack measuring 7.5"/19cm wide x 5.5"/14cm high, a fantastic piece to alter.

I so hope you like my creation for Rhedd's Creative Spirit.
I can't wait to get started on next months creation.

Thank you for stopping by, I truly appreciate you all.
Please click on the follow me button if you haven't already to see my future creations.

Will be back soon with more creations for you.
